Long-Form Sales Page
Build Your Freelance Website in Four Days Sales Letter
Build Your Freelance Website in Four Days is an AWAI program designed to guide freelance writers through planning, writing, and building a professional website step by step. The offer addresses a common sticking point for newer writers: knowing they need a website, but feeling overwhelmed by the technical decisions, the writing, or simply not knowing where to start.
For this long-form sales-letter spec assignment, I wrote a complete promotional page for the program. The piece needed to make a fairly substantial offer feel manageable, explain the program in enough detail to support a buying decision, address common objections, and sustain the reader’s interest across a long page without losing the central promise: a clear path from “I need a website” to a finished professional site.

The Challenge
The program promised to help freelance writers plan, write, and build a professional website — which meant the sales letter had to explain a substantial offer without making the process feel even more complicated.
The audience was likely to be dealing with some combination of uncertainty, technical hesitation, lack of samples, limited confidence, or simple procrastination. The page therefore needed to do more than describe what was included. It had to make the process feel manageable, answer practical objections, and give readers a believable reason to stop putting the project off.
My Approach
01
Build the page around a memorable hook
I used the idea of the “50-millisecond test” to frame the stakes: prospects can start forming an impression of a website almost instantly. That gave the sales letter a recurring thread for showing why a professional website matters — and why continuing to put it off carries a cost.
02
Make a complicated project feel simple
The program itself covered a lot of ground, so I used the EZ Path — plan, write, build — to organize the offer into a clear progression and keep the reader from feeling buried in details.
03
Use research and objections to support the sale
The page used outside research to strengthen the case for having a professional website, then addressed practical questions around technical skill, pacing, lack of samples, support, and risk.
