Email Campaign / Sequence
Writer’s Starter Kit Email Campaign
The Writer’s Starter Kit is an AWAI offer designed to help aspiring freelance writers set up the business side of their writing career — from choosing goals and projects to handling client communication, pricing, productivity, and marketing.
For this email-copywriting assignment, I created a multi-email campaign supporting the promotion and onboarding of the Writer’s Starter Kit. The campaign had to move readers from interest toward purchase, address common questions and hesitations, create urgency around the offer, and then help new buyers start using the product after they joined.

The Challenge
The Writer’s Starter Kit had a broad promise: help aspiring writers set up the business side of a freelance career without having to piece everything together on their own. The campaign needed to make that promise feel concrete rather than overwhelming.
On the promotional side, the emails had to explain a fairly comprehensive offer, answer common questions, reinforce the value of the included tools and training, and build toward a time-sensitive purchase decision. On the onboarding side, the welcome emails needed to reassure new buyers, orient them to the product, and encourage them to start using it instead of letting it sit untouched.
My Approach
01
Give each email a distinct job
Rather than repeating the same sales message, the campaign approached the offer from different angles — explaining the value, answering questions, reinforcing credibility, creating urgency, and helping new buyers get started.
02
Keep bringing the offer back to the reader’s real concern
The Writer’s Starter Kit contains a lot of components, so the emails consistently tied those details back to the larger outcome: helping a new writer feel less overwhelmed and more prepared to build the business side of a freelance career.
03
Shift the conversation after the sale
Once someone purchased, the tone and goal changed. The welcome emails moved from persuasion to reassurance and activation — showing buyers where to begin, how to use the materials, and why starting now would help them get more value from the product.
